Spanish Social Investment Forum

The Spanish Social Investment Forum , Spainsif, is a non-profit and multistakeholder organization created to promote the integration of Environmental, Social & Governance criteris into asset management policies in Spain, through multistakeholder dialogue and working for sustainable development.

The official launch of the Spanish SIF took place in June 2009. It’s main aims are to be a reference multistakeholder platform to create and spread SRI knowledge, and to inspire and promote changes in investment processes done by institutional investment community, public administration, companies and all type of private investor in Spain, assuming as own values the responsibility, transparency, sustainability, commitment, trust ,diversity and the independency.

The Spainsif 32+ members represent most of the actors of the SRI “industry” in Spain , and include Financial Institutions, Asset Managers, SRI suppliers, NGOs, and Trade Unions.

Spainsif runs a series of projects with three strategic drivers and objectives:

  1. SRI promotion in order to develop the demand and the offer;
  2. Generation of a plural and independent vision about SRI issues and it’s promotion in Spain;
  3. Formulation and implementation of a three years Strategic plan, yearly reviewed.
