The FIR launches two working groups
In line with their mission to promote responsible investment concepts and practices and ensure that more people invest based on the idea of social cohesion and sustainable development the French SIF has created a working group that will develop the “Definition of SRI”. It started on January 17th 2007. They have also recently launched a second group that will concentrate on ”Shareholder Engagement”. Their first meeting was held on February 7th 2007.

UKSIF announces free online training for IFAs and a guide to help IFAs ‘go green’
UKSIF will be providing two new free services for financial advisers from late February. The on-line training course is being introduced to help advisers respond to the soaring demand for advice on green and ethical investments. The course builds on the Responsible Investment Toolkit for Financial Advisers and the training seminars, which UKSIF has run, working with its members, over the last few years. At the same time, ‘The IFAs Guide to Going Green’ will be launched. The Guide shows the simple steps that advisers can take to green their business. Contact andrea.krug@uksif.org.

New US SIF Director Appointed
The board of directors of the Social Investment Forum is very pleased to announce that Ingrid Dyott of Neuberger Berman has been appointed to a three-year term on the board, beginning in January 2007. Ingrid is currently the co-chair of the Forum’s Social Investment Research Analyst Network (SIRAN) and served in the past on the steering committee of the International Working Group. The US SIF board welcomes Ingrid to this new position.
