Eurosif responds to SEC Review of shareholder resolution process in the US

Eurosif addressed a letter to Christopher Cox, the Chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission, regarding rule 14a-8 governing the shareholder resolution process. The SEC is considering changes to the rule that would harm the right of investors to file non-binding resolution. Eurosif expressed concern that any proposed changes would have negative effects on shareholder advocacy and urged the SEC not to weaken shareholders’ rights to file resolutions by crafting any amendment that would make it substantially more difficult for investors to sponsor reasonable resolutions.
