French SIF launches the third edition of the FIR “Financial and Sustainability” European Research Award

In order to support and give value to SRI research en France and in Europe, the French Social Investment Forum (FIR) has decided that each year it would reward research projects that contribute to the development of knowledge in the field of “Finance and Sustainability”.

Organised in partnership with “Le Monde”, three awards of 5,000€ each are given each year. The FIR has decided to finance also three grants of 3,000€ each on “Financial Instruments”, “Finance & Social Issues” and “SRI Marketing products”.

Applications should be sent to award@frenchsif.org before October 27th.

French SIF has new Executive Committee

At the close of the General Assembly on June 27th, the French SIF endows a new Executive Committee under the Presidency of Robin Edme(Grant Thornton), also Co-President of the Eurosif:

  • Vice-President in charge of programmes: Martine Léonard (Crédit Mutuel – CIC Asset Management)

  • Executive Committee member in charge of NGOs relations: Martial Cozette (CFIE)

  • Executive Committee member in charge of Unions relations: Jean-Philippe Liard (Fédération Chimie-Energie CFDT)

UKSIF Sustainable Pensions Library launched

The free Sustainable Pensions Library provides a simple “one stop shop" for pension fund trustees and managers who want to learn more about responsible investment. By bringing together key documents and web links in one place, it gives a quick and easy-to-use overview of key initiatives, legal and financial arguments and particularly relevant books and research papers.

Thomson Extel SRI Awards presented at UKSIF 15th Anniversary Summer Event

The Event was chaired by Steve Waygood, UKSIF Chair and the speakers were Michael Quicke CCLA, Penny Shepherd, UKSIF and Coen Weddepohl, Man Investments. The four Awards presented were for leading independent research provider (Innovest) and leading brokerage firms for long-term thematic research (Citi Investment Research), corporate governance (Deutsche Bank) and for SRI/sustainability research (Citi Investment Research). The Event was hosted by CCLA Asset Management. The Award for Leading Brokerage Firm for SRI/Sustainability Research was presented for the first time at the main Extel Awards Event on 14 June. This was awarded to Citi Investment Research with Société Générale and Goldman Sachs, second and third respectively.
