Insurance and Food Production Sector Reports released
These are the fourth and fifth such notes in Eurosif’s series of publications aimed at raising awareness among a wide European audience on the nature and understanding of social and environmental issues, as well as related business opportunities potentially affecting long-term returns and productivity within these sectors.
The next two in this series covering Real Estate and Paper & Forestry will be released in early July.
First Eurosif & OECD Watch “fact sheet” released
This introductory fact sheet, the first in a series of four, explains how the SRI community can use the OECD Guidelines and outlines how they fit into the larger CSR normative framework. Eurosif and OECD Watch are working together to promote dialogue on better integration of the Guidelines into SRI practices.

Eurosif meets with Nestlé
As part of her research for the food production sector report, Sarah Clawson was invited to meet with Nestlé’s CEO and CFO during their annual “investor day” held at Nestlé headquarters in Vevey, Switzerland on May 29th, 2007. She was able to speak to Peter Brabeck about how his multi-national company addresses ESG issues.

First annual National SIF Exchange day held in Paris on June 18th
Eurosif was proud to host this first event of its kind bringing together 6 Social Investment Forums from across Europe to share developments in their local markets that may have applicability in other countries. In attendance were representatives from Belgium, France, Germany, Holland, Italy and the UK.

Regional Workshop on Investor Relations: What Do Investors Want?
Eurosif addressed stock exchange personnel from Central and Eastern Europe, investor relations directors and institutional investors at this Bucharest event on June 20, 2007. The speech was focused on helping companies and stock exchanges better understand investor demands around ESG issues.
Eurosif addresses OECD Roundtable on Corporate Responsibility
On June 18, 2007, Eurosif provided a viewpoint from the fiduciary community in the OECD session titled “Taking stock of corporate responsibility practices in the financial sector”. The purpose of this annual encounter is to assist the OECD’s National Contact Points in performing their role of promoting and implementing the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises taking into account emerging issues and relevant policy developments.
Eurosif shares views on Climate Change in Copenhagen
Eurosif addressed leading investors on ‘Climate Change and Private Equity investing’ at the European Summit on Corporate Governance and Responsible Investment in Copenhagen, held on June 13 & 14, 2007.
Eurosif speaks with Family Offices in Lausanne
Eurosif was a keynote speaker at the June 7 & 8, 2007 Family Investment Workshop held in Lausanne, Switzerland. Attendees included leading financial service providers and family offices increasingly interested in developing tools to integrate sustainability issues into their fund management approaches. Eurosif spoke specifically on Venture Capital for Sustainability (VC4S) investing.
EU Sustainable Development Strategy meeting
Eurosif spoke at the June 5, 2007 event put together by the Resource Efficiency Alliance around a response to the EU Sustainable Development Strategy (EUSDS). A speaker from the European Commission Secretariat General spoke about the upcoming Progress Report that will highlight the initial progress made on the EUSDS across the EU. Eurosif was asked to submit a thought piece from the sustainable investing perspective.
VC4S discussion in Budapest at Financing Eco-innovation in Central and Eastern Europe
Eurosif spoke to an audience from the EC, Ministries from Hungary and Austria and the financial services sector about eco-efficiency development through the use of sustainable venture capital and private equity at this important Eastern European conference.
