Eurosif / SWESIF event on Climate Change, What is the Role of Institutional Investors?
15 September 2008, Stockholm, Sweden (Swedbank offices)
Despite progress by Nordic companies, there is growing evidence that the rate at which companies are reducing their GHG emissions falls far short of the emissions reductions that are being called for by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. This in turn presents risks for investors, as it means that companies may not be well positioned to respond effectively to future policy and regulation in this area. Hear from Rory Sullivan, Head of Responsible Investment, Insight Investment; Carl Rosén, 2008 Chairman of the Ethical Council, Head of Corporate Governance and Communications at the second AP Fund and Pontus Cerin, Associate Professor, Responsible Investments and Corporate Governance, IVL Swedish Environmental Research Institute on how to tackle this issue.
