Eurosif partnered with INrate for the water study, the first theme report of our series. Eurosif and INrate have highlighted four critical water issues: Water Scarcity and Unequal Distribution of Current Supply, Drinking Water and Sanitation, Water Pollution, and Climate Change and their associated risks and opportunities for water-dependent businesses. The study was recently presented at a conference on water scarcity organised by Ionis Inter Expansion in Paris on December 12, 2008. Article on ‘Salary Policies’ published in Le Monde / La Stampa / El Pais / ZEIT online / Le Temps Partnership
The most recent Le Monde article, PDF in English and in French published on November 11th 2008, covered the question: "How salary policies become competitive?" and provided an example on “How companies can commit to respect minimum wages”. Data was sourced from Ernst & Young while the French Social Investment Forum assisted with the analysis.
European SRI Transparency Guidelines: Recent Signatories Update
Since Eurosif launched a logo specific to the European SRI Transparency Guidelines last spring, 3 institutions have recently completed the review process: KBC Asset Management, Eurizon Capital (SGR), and Raiffeisen Schweiz. The logo can be used by signatories effective immediately once their responses to the Transparency Guidelines have been updated and reviewed by a national Social Investment Forum. Lessons from the Financial Crisis December 8, 2008 - Brussels
Eurosif was a keynote speaker along with Richard Howitt, Member of the European Parliament to discuss the need for greater accountability, transparency and regulation in the financial sector with suggestions on how greater regulation might help. The event brought together stakeholders from European institutions, business, financial and credit institutions, academia and NGOs.
How to integrate ESG factors in your investment choices, December 5, 2008 – Paris, France
Organised by Novethic, this invite-only event gathered institutional investors from France and the rest of Europe to exchange responsible investing practices. Eurosif moderated a panel entitled “Controversial weapons: How to develop a sound investment policy”.
HNWI Event, November 19, 2008 - Milan, Italy
The Italian SIF and the Italian Private Banking Association organised a well attended session to discuss trends in HNWI Sustainable Investing. The invite-only event addressed potential training avenues available for private banks and HNWI investors. Eurosif, the Italian SIF, family offices and wealth managers spoke about trends and challenges.
UN & PRI, November 7, 2008 - Geneva, Switzerland
Eurosif spoke on a panel about investor participation in the policy process at the ‘Policy Context for Responsible Investment’. This public-private sector workshop was co-hosted by UNCTAD and PRI.
SRI in the Rockies, October 25 - 28 , 2008 - Whistler, Canada
Global SIF Leaders’ Panel:
Eurosif was invited to address European SRI trends to more than 700 people at the Global SIF Leader’s Panel which took place during the recent SRI in the Rockies event organized by the US SIF .
Social Investment Forum's Advocacy & Public Policy Breakfast:
Eurosif met with leading directors of US financial service providers to discuss collaborative lobbying efforts that could be done in the US, Europe and Australia and Asia.
High Net Worth Individuals event, October 15, 2008 - London
Eurosif presented results from its recent High Net Worth Individuals and Sustainable Investment report at an UKSIF event, hosted by Henderson Global Investors.
