We are currently seeking an ESG Research Analyst to join our ESG Organization in Paris.

Job description

MSCI ESG Research, part of MSCI Inc, is seeking to expand its ESG Research analyst team. An associate level research analyst is expected to have a strong interest in general ESG trends and specific knowledge about the dominant ESG issues for selected industries. The analyst will investigate and assess core ESG risks faced by the industries and evaluate performance along the key benchmarks for large publicly traded companies globally.

Contact with the corporations we assess, presentations of industry and company analysis to both MSCI clients and potential clients, as well as contribution to developing our ratings model are a potential component of ESG Research Analyst work. A qualified candidate would have experience in conducting analysis of quantitative and qualitative data and have strong facility with modeling.

Currently, we are seeking candidates with experience in a number of industries and issues, including: Chemicals; Insurance; Agriculture; Healthcare; Energy; Basic Materials; Capital Goods/Industrials; Climate Change; Public Health.

Responsabilities

  • 3-5 industry reports and client presentations per year
  • 3-5 ESG issue white papers (1-5 pages each)
  • Analyze and prepare performance profiles for 100 companies per yearMonitor and ensure client satisfaction
Skills / requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in:
    • ESG Research industry, or
    • Relevant financial services experience that includes exposure to ESG investment products, or
    • Analytical roles within key industries, or
    • Relevant public policy or academic or NGO experience
  • Strong background in research and analysis
  • Good writing and communication skills
  • Experienced at presenting results of research in public settings
  • Minimum of Bachelors’ degree required
  • Advanced degree in related field preferred (masters or PhD) but not required
