Job Type: Full-time Employment Type: 1-year contract with the potential for a permanent contract after 1 year Reports to: Director, Research Products Europe (located in Amsterdam) Location: Frankfurt, Germany Start date: March/April 2012
POSITION PURPOSE
The Manager, Research Products, is the gatekeeper of Sustainalytics’ human resources strategy, culture, and Research Products team in Frankfurt. As supervisor of a group of analysts, s/he is a motivator, problem-solver, coach and mentor. A leader on the Research Products Team, s/he is responsible for core products, quality control, product innovation, account management, and thought leadership. Depending on the candidate’s qualifications and interests, the position could include significant client servicing. Furthermore, as manager of office operations, s/he is the primary person responsible for maintaining a sound office environment for her/his team.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage and mentor 3-5 analysts (some of whom may be remote); Coaching your reports to succeed along the team’s Career Development Path; Assessing performance an a continuous basis, including Mid Year and End of Year reviews, recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance; Manage research tasks and client projects; Responsible for core products and research processes including quality assurance; Contribute to, and manage product innovation initiatives; Research the ESG impacts of companies in a high-profile industry; Represent the company at (international) events and relevant networking groups; Contribute to Thought Leadership through writing and/or conference presentations; Serving as the primary go-to person to manage office environment (operations, finance, ICT, and HR); Act as the trusted advisor for German client accounts.
QUALIFICATIONS
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of responsible investment and the financial services industry in German speaking markets; 3-5 years RI related work experience; Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences); Demonstrated passion for sustainability; Demonstrated success in effectively managing people and projects; Motivator and leader by example; Excellent interpersonal, communication, and business writing skills; Fluent German speaker, with an excellent command of English.
REMUNERATION
Salary is in the range of EUR 47.000 – 54.000 per annum on a full time basis, commensurate with qualifications and experience, plus benefits.
