Job description

The Ownership Strategies department is seeking to strengthen the team with a highly motivated and self-driven Senior Analyst to take part in the development of the environmental issue area.

NBIM invests in Equities in approximately 8000 companies. Ownership strategies reflects how we exercise our ownership rights in these companies and hence, influence the companies and markets in which NBIM invests. One of NBIM’s strategic areas for ownership strategies and corporate engagement is environmental issues.

Your role will be to cover and engage on environmental issues relevant for ownership strategies and corporate governance on a market level as well as on individual company level. The position is located in Oslo. Some travel will be required.

Main Responsibilities:

• Supervise and conduct company and issues research and analysis
• Participation in meetings with top management of NBIM’s portfolio companies globally
• Engagement with standard setters, external networks and initiatives and communication with other investors
• Preparation and participation in internal/external presentations

Requirements / qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Advanced university degree in international relations, business or finance with strong academic records
• Profound understanding of current issues relating to climate change, sustainable development and general corporate governance
• 5 -8 years experience with corporate engagement and/or interaction with senior level management of international business
• Experience from developing countries and emerging markets and/or portfolio management is considered as an advantage
• Team oriented with an open and innovative mindset
• Excellent analytical skills
• Strong project management skills
• Excellent communication skills and fluency in English
