EFAMA’s 22nd Investment Management Forum

23.09.2016

EFAMA’s Investment Management Forum 2016 will be an occasion for the European and global asset management industry to meet and discuss the potential implications of the United Kingdom’s EU referendum vote.

Whilst adapting to the historical circumstances in which the EU finds itself after the UK vote, the European asset management industry stands ready to continue to support the EU project and the Commission’s objectives underlying the Capital Markets Union: filling the financing gaps, making the funds passport more effective, facilitating the cross-border operation of investment funds or developing a pan-European personal pension product (PEPP). These are still important issues for the industry to which we wish to contribute.

An important part of the Forum will be dedicated to global matters such as those driven by the FSB and IOSCO as well as trends and developments in Asia and the US. We want to continue the constructive dialogue with central bankers and regulators about the distinctive features of our business model. We will also wish to tap into market liquidity and existing concerns that liquidity has become more fragmented, and with what tools (market-based and regulatory) asset managers would be able to cope with any potential market liquidity concerns. It will be a point in time for industry and institutional experts to discuss where concerns by markets and regulators converge and diverge.
