Eurosif recruits a Communication and Brand officer

An exciting opportunity has risen in the European Sustainable Investment Forum (Eurosif), a network spanning over 400 organisations. Driving the Eurosif Comms effort, the Communication and Brand officer will be in charge of coordinating and implementing a communication and media strategy to raise the profile of the association and promote its work in international media. In this position, you will also monitor the media to identify engagement opportunities and potential threats, and will play an active role in crisis management and communication.

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Support Executive Director in identifying newsworthy stories and develop, coordinate and implement a media strategy to promote the association’s profile and activities;
  • Liaise with the Eurosif’s network to coordinate media strategies at the local level and maximise media coverage;
  • Use media monitoring tools to screen the international and local media, produce news round-up for members and identify media opportunities;
  • Act as the main contact person for media queries and handle these requests;
  • Keep proactive outreach to media, building strategic and lasting relations with journalists;
  • Build up and maintain a media database, including international media contacts, covering mainstream and specialised outlets;
  • Organise press briefings, media conferences, press field trips and interviews when necessary;
  • Take an active role in safeguarding the association’s reputation. Identify potential risks and threats to the organisation and support in handling media during crisis or unexpected negative PR incidents, ensuring potentially damaging situations are dealt with sensitively and quickly;
  • Support the promotion of events in the media, and develop and implement a tailored media strategy if necessary;
  • Promote and maintain the Transparency Code. Liaise with signatories, update the web pages, manage the overview.

Skills & Experience

  • At least 3-4 years of relevant experience in agency or corporate communications
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or related field or equivalent experience required
  • Excellent written and editorial skills
  • Can do and positive attitude
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear and simple messages
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet short deadlines
  • Good understanding of policy priorities (international trade and sustainability)
  • English native speaker or equivalent, other languages are a plus
  • Personal interest in sustainability and/or sustainable finance and CSR is a strong asset
  • Ability to proofread with strong attention to detail
  • Experience in working in an international context
