US and China ratify Paris Agreement

On Saturday the 3rd of September 2016, the United States of America and China – the two largest emitters in the world – formally committed to the Paris Agreement at the G20 summit.

In response, Eurosif’s Executive Director, Flavia Micilotta, said “Following the formal ratification of United States and China of the¬†Paris climate change agreement, the world hails to what has been described as the long-awaited move, which could really make the difference in the climate debate.”.

As of 3 September 2016: 180 Parties signed the Agreement, 26 Parties ratified.
