Eurosif at the Sustainable Development Festival

27 July 2017

The Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS) brings together 160 organisations, representing both the economic and the social communities. ASviS recently organised the first Sustainable Development Festival  with over 200 events that ran from the 22nd of May until the 7th of June. As the SDGs are primarily focused on the role the private sector plays in meeting the objectives set out in the Agenda 2030, ASviS organised their key event, in Milan on the 1st of June, to hear from companies about how they intend to meet these goals.

The first part of the day focused on the key players of some of the main business organisations in the world exchanging with the Minister for Economic Development, Mr Carlo Calenda, and with Gian Luca Galletti, Minister of the Environment. The second half of the day was devoted to two panel discussions where representatives of the private sector exchanged ideas with those involved in sustainable finance. As Executive Director, Flavia Micilotta presented the work that Eurosif is undertaking in Europe during these very interesting times. While European regulators are forging a legislative framework centred around increased transparency, long-term investing and the inclusion of ESG criteria, the member states are reinforcing their position and presenting opportunities for the investors.

The video of the panel is now available:
