Sustainable Development Goals for responsible investors

26 June 2017

On the 23rd of June, an article written by Eurosif's Executive Director, Flavia Micilotta, was published by Italian Alliance for Sustainable Development (ASviS). ASviS was established on February 3rd, 2016, upon the initiative of the Unipolis Foundation and the University of Rome “Tor Vergata”. Its aim is to raise awareness among the Italian society, economic stakeholders and institutions about the importance of the Sustainable Development Agenda, and to mobilize them in order to pursue the SDGs.

The article focuses on the clear link between SRI and the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This can be a lever for investors and the private sector to achieve these ambitious targets. SRI investors are looking for future-proofed businesses who are forward-looking and able to plan ahead in spite of present and pressing constraints, such as climate change and resource depletion. Businesses that can demonstrate how they are turning these risks into opportunities are deemed as viable sustainable investment options.
