SFDR 2.0: Getting it right for EU investors and savers
Panel discussion
1 July 2026, 12:30 – 14:00 CET
European Parliament and online
Co-hosted alongside SFDR 2.0 Rapporteur Gerbrandy (Renew Europe), and Shadow Rapporteurs Wolters (S&D), Niedermayer (EPP), and Peter-Hansen (Greens/EFA).
The discussions gave MEPs and their teams a chance to hear directly from the European investors who will implement the revised Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation. The panel looked at how the proposed changes to the SFDR will potentially affect the sustainable investment market. Speakers will discussed how to ensure new categories are technically workable for the industry and clear for everyday savers. Additional representatives from European fund managers were also present in the audience to share their perspectives and enrich the discussion.

Recording: Financing sustainable growth in the EU
The next steps for the competitiveness and industrial decarbonisation agenda
Panel discussion
19 March 2025, 12:00 – 14:00 CET
European Parliament and online
Hosted by MEP Radan Kanev (BG, EPP) and organised jointly with Eurosif, the European Sustainable Investment Forum.
To achieve its decarbonisation and competitiveness objectives, the EU needs to bridge an estimated annual investment gap of €750-800 billion a year. With the start of the new EU legislative mandate and the first initiatives for regulatory simplification, this panel discussion aims to detail the benefits of sustainable finance and its importance for scaling-up investments in industrial decarbonisation, increasing Europe’s competitiveness, and fostering sustainable growth.
This panel provided a stock-take of the current regulatory landscape for sustainable investments and recommendations for how to complete the EU sustainable finance framework with the focus on accelerating the transition to a low-carbon and resilient economy.
