VBDO Publishes Report on Philanthropy Transparency

The Dutch philanthropic sector does not have a transparent investment policy. This is one of the conclusions in a report by the Association of Investors for Sustainable Development (VBDO) investigating 38 fundraising institutions and capital funds. Many charities are not transparent about how their money is invested. VBDO looked at policy, implementation and accountability. Only 22 of the 38 organizations have formulated a responsible investment policy. The Dutch Televisionprogramma "Uitgesproken VARA" interviewed VBDO director Giuseppe van der Helm about this report.
