High Net Worth Individual & Sustainable Investment Study Publication Set for September 2010 Eurosif’s HNWI & Sustainable Investment Study is underway. How has the crisis affected HNWIs’ appetite for sustainable investment? In 2007, 87% of respondents thought the interest for sustainable investment was going to grow in the following three years: what is the situation in 2010? The second edition of the HNWIs & Sustainable Investment study will highlight recent trends regarding the strategies used by HNWIs in their asset allocations and to which extent they integrate Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) issues into their investment decision-making and ownership practices. For more information, please contact sophier@eurosif.org. 2010 European SRI Study to be Released in October The highly anticipated 2010 edition of the European SRI Market Study will be released exclusively to Eurosif member affiliates at the Eurosif annual Advisory Council Meeting on October 12 in the Netherlands. It will be presented to the public on October 13, 2010, at the Eurosif / Responsible Investor Event in the Netherlands. There will also be events held across Europe in partnership with the local SIFs to discuss the results of the study. Please see our Events section for more details. Eurosif to Respond to EC Green Paper on Corporate Governance in Financial Institutions On Tuesday, June 22, 2010 Eurosif and APG co-hosted a Remuneration Workshop in Amsterdam. The aim of the workshop was to debate and discuss various perspectives on how to integrate environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance in remuneration strategies. The output of the discussions will be incorporated into Eurosif’s Response to the European Commission’s Green Paper on Corporate Governance in Financial Institutions which was released on June 2, 2010. Sector Report on Extractives to be Published in Collaboration with GES Eurosif, with the research help of GES, is working on a sector report focusing on the extractives industry, to be published after the summer. A steering committee comprised of CM-CIC Asset Management, Edmond de Rothschild Asset Management, Schroeders, SNS Asset Management, Threadneedle and Triodos professionals have provided their input and support on this project. Corruption Theme Report Released The Eurosif theme report on Corruption was published in June 2010. Vigeo provided the research for this report and the steering committee included representatives from CM-CIC Asset Management, ECPI, Fundacion Ecologica y Desarrollo and Henderson Global Investors. The report outlines impacts corruption has on companies and investors as well as provides concrete "best practices" companies may implement to prevent corruption in the future. Read the report. Eurosif Participates in EC Meeting on Corporate Governance Today, July 12, Eurosif is participating in an informal meeting on Corporate Governance organised by the European Commission’s Internal Markets and Services Directorate General. The aim of the meeting is to discuss key issues on financial governance in financial institutions, particularly on shareholders engagement and risk control management and disclosure. Eurosif will report back to member affiliates on the output of discussions and the next steps to be taken. Eurosif Discusses Sustainable Investment with the Greek In late May, Eurosif Executive Director, Matt Christensen, visited the Institute of Social Innovation in Greece where he was interviewed on Greek TV about sustainable investment and its impact on all facets of society.
