Matt Christensen

Matt Christensen is an Independent Director of Eurosif, with more than 20 years of experience advancing sustainable investment across a range of roles.

From 2020 to 2026, he served as Global Head of Sustainable and Impact Investing at Allianz Global Investors, where he was also a member of the Investment Executive Committee. As part of his larger role of influencing the shape of sustainable investing in private markets, Matt was elected in 2022 to a three-year term as GRESB Foundation Board Member to help steer the GRESB Standards.

Before that, Matt worked for AXA Investment Management, where he had been Global Head of Impact and Responsible Investment since 2011. Prior to this, he was the Founding Executive Director of Eurosif. Matt started his career as a strategy consultant before being appointed as Director of Business Development at the Motley Fool, where he led the company’s international expansion into continental Europe.

He holds MBA and MA degrees from the University of Pennsylvania through the Wharton/Lauder program. He has held Board positions with various impact funds, including a listed private equity fund on the London Stock Exchange and as Vice President of one of the leading microfinance funds. Matt and his family reside in Paris.
